“Accuweather”
Price : Free
A superb realtime weather application.
This gives accurate weather forecasting for your exact location, updating
itself every few seconds. It gives forcasts for each hour for the next twenty four hours
and for the next fourteen days. Also includes humidity, windspeed, precipitation, dew point. pollen etc and has
moving “rain Radar” animations – you can see the storms heading towards you!You can set it up so that you can immediately link to the same set of information for
any pre-set destination in the world. I have eleven set up for people I know abroad so I
can at any time see what weather they are having. On a point of balance “The Weather Channel” and “Met Office Weather” are equally good.

Access your computer from your iPod on the other side of the world.
Amazing technology. How often have you been somewhere else and needed a file or
letter from your computer. Very simple install and the test has worked. Went next door
and could access every single file, picture, letter on the computer. In the publicity they quote a man who went to South Africa and was still able to do
his work on the PC at home. They say this App was 69.99 just a short time ago. Suddenly a free version for the real people. To
show how new it is my Norton told me that less than 5 people in the country had downloaded this file. Once
again we are at the cutting edge of technology."Even if you are not paranoid, it does not mean they are not out to get you!".

As always Sarah is straight to the salient point.
There has to be some current going through the computer to access it. First time I
tried it completely off and it just said “Taungfox – PC Offline”. I was disappointed but
they say no one would expect to access a “dead PC” which is just a lump of plastic and metal.
It works with them in standby or sleep modes. The blurb makes the point that in most cases a family PC would be on while you
were away in a different country at a conference, working or visiting someone.Neighbours were very impressed to see any of the 1200 files in “My Documents” or
any of the 25,000 pics from the PC on my iPod Touch that came out of my pocket. The ultimate
portable PC."Even if you are not paranoid, it does not mean they are not out to get you!".

January 13, 2012 at 5:55 pm #83656Re: The Appy Corner…..lol – their are quite a few remote access apps aren’t there – good if you want to see flash content on an iPad (you just log into the browser of your desktop).
I’m having App withdrawal symptoms – considering my next purchase from the store to play with :-)
Loving the panorama apps at the moment – rather fond of the photography ones – very accessible for wobbly hands and fingers.

do every single function on my little iPod while still in bed is just amazing. Even does
instant money transfers free of charge.Check to see if your bank has a free App.

This morning in bed I was watching the cricket from australia on one screen, following another
sporting event on the iPod Touch screen (3 and a half inches). On the Ten inch Ipad screen it
would be just so much better. To answer the quesion. Yes the Ancestry App does allow more than one gedcom. I have the sample
one they give you plus my own and two others of other people who give me access to theirs
on the ancestry site. It is allowing me to add another gedcom again so a big yes."Even if you are not paranoid, it does not mean they are not out to get you!".

April 18, 2012 at 1:45 pm #83669Re: The Appy Corner…..I’ve got a solitaire app on my galaxy tablet. I used to know it as Patience [with playing cards]. That was free.
The Google sky map is also free and very interesting if you like looking at the night sky.
I downloaded loads of crossword puzzles for something like £1.99 from Teazel. They’ve proved to be worth the money.
