As far as I’m aware, there are no cures for any type of muscular dystrophy, unfortunately. Researchers are doing their best and progress has been made but we can only hope that in time there WILL be a cure, if not necessarily for us but for other, younger people with MD.

There is however much more understanding and back up for sufferers and
help with a whole range of coping strategies.Keep asking questions.

October 2, 2014 at 1:46 pm #94780Re: Why isnt there a cure for MDEDIn over the 25 years of me having MD, i haven’t seen any real change in what the doctors do. I believe the people who have MD should be told about the steps forward that take place, because i dont know of any.

It can get a bit technical but on the main site there is a section on Research News ….. LINKED HERE
I imagine one of the issues with research into treatment is how to get that treatment into the body, I do not see it being an injection/pill method but possibly something far more complicated …. so in some ways they are researching the how to administer as much as how to treat/cure/prevent.
