Who would I make a complaint to about intimidation?

Had independent EP in school yesterday and she wasn’t allowed to work wth my son 1:1, the head insisted she was there sat next to him and was incredibly rude to the EP from the moment she arrived. The EP could see my boy wanted to talk and in the end he welled up and said “I can’t do this”. She then came to our house and told us she was horrified at how the head was with her and that she had never seen such a stressed out child in a mainstream environment before. Her recommendation is we get him out of there ASAP.

She wants to work with him at our house now to get a better understanding.

I am so angry but unfortunately I am not surprised that this happened because she has intimidated me for 5 years. She has banned her staff from talking to me without her there and has done nothing to help my boy except turn him from a happy go lucky child, albeit with problems, to a nervous wreck.

The school has no interest in my sons welfare at all.

    Hi

It sounds like you and your son are being treated appallingly. I think the usual channels to make a complaint are to write to the school’s Chair of Governors, the SEN caseworker at the relevant Local Education Authority or there are organisations if you want to challenge any decisions or take things further e.g. SENDIST.

I truly hope you manage to find somewhere for your son where he can settle, enjoy his education and flourish!

Yep it’s been horrendous. He is miserable and given he has Duchenne, I don’t want the place he spends the majority of his time in to be a nightmare for him. thanks for the advice. Will definitely start with the governors, think they are under the thumb tho which doesn’t help, but she can’t go round being hostile and intimidating and get away with it! Xx

Sarah is right on all fronts, don’t let this head dictate, your sons needs come first!

What has been witnessed is sickening… Is the situation better now?
I support a pupil with DMD and I’m appalled you have experienced such negativity … I would definitely complain :x
