January 3, 2017 at 6:46 pm #146114Reply To: Top Tips……………I think my most loved and useful item is the Door Entry System
that the OT lady put in back in 2010.Used it every day since and it works perfectly every time (so I
am not touching it!) It just enables me to talk to people who
knock at the door and if I want to let them in just press a button
to release the catch. Have a handset by my main Rise and Recline chair
and one by the bedside. Actually there was a wireless portable
handset on offer but I would have dropped and broken that long ago.
Also it is easier to say no to problem callers over a phone link."Even if you are not paranoid, it does not mean they are not out to get you!".

Also it is easier to say no to problem callers over a phone link.Possum are coming out to survey next week for a door entry system. Was there alot of wiring work to put in the hand sets and door entry?. Im hoping for wireless.
Any tips or question to ask them on the day

My other much loved one was when the bath was no longer an option to
get a plumber to design a level access shower room around a sturdy
shower chair. Most importantly the chair had to have completely solid back
and sturdy arms so that I can just sit completely supported
and just press a button. The shower had to be lowered
to be accessed from a sitting position.I chose the ETAC Shower Chair but there are several from £ 50-100.
Makes getting wanted a simple pleasure rather than a painful nightmare.

Any tips or question to ask them on the dayIt appeared quite simple on the day but quite a bit of time and effort to get wires
to both bed and front room chair. Wi-Fi might well be easier. The big problem was when I had to get the external speaker unit out on the front
door put on the front of my new porch. Apparently the power supply units
have a limited range and it took three visits to get it working."Even if you are not paranoid, it does not mean they are not out to get you!".

Wireless doorbell was a great solution to calling my PAs in the night. My bed I cannot live or rather sleep without. It’s a Baltic turning bed and solves so many issues: indigestion/reflux, back pain, pressure sores, nasal drip and safety of PAs. My ventilator keeps me alive of course so perhaps the most crucial piece of equipment.
Other things that make life easier/safer include hoist, shower chair, powerchair, remote control light, mobile phone to turn sky channels over and record and access recorded progs. In fact I can do a lot from my phone and laptop to help my life run smoothly.

January 4, 2017 at 12:42 pm #146137Reply To: Top Tips……………I would also go for two things. My electric, rising recliner chair that helps me get up AND turns into a bed as well at the press of a button. The other would be my heat mats. So sueful in relieving the pain that the MST cannot.

Most of them sadly would not have been available to our
patents generation. Remember my mother laying in a flat
bad for years."Even if you are not paranoid, it does not mean they are not out to get you!".
