    The Perfect Move…..

Ranald has been educating us today on how important it is to find your long-term “final home”.

Just like him I so agree that it would be counter-productive to move to somewhere that
with your progressive disease means you have to move again shortly afterwards.

This morning I think I have found my perfect final move

There are 30 warden controlled flats on top of our Tescos with lifts, rooftop gardens and everything you could want nearby.
there are three different levels of Warden-control access so you can increase the level of service without having to move.

You are on top of all the food you could want, the library, station and bus stops are next door. Two are available now but I will wait till one of the larger larger ones comes available on the sunnier south side with the bigger balconies with sea view. Luckily the MD regional care advisors have solved my immediate problems so I can wait and choose the exact best time to “jump”. Even had a house clearance man here to give me a price on moving all my stuff and disposing of half of it.

Sorry to sound smug and self satisfied, but I think it is important to confront the issue and have
a plan. For years I worried about this. Now I have a plan that can be put into immediate effect in case of an
emergency or I can choose the exact best time for my needs.

Well sea glimpse is more the truth, but after working away from home in grimy London for
    fifteen years it will do.

I just feel a weight has been lifted now I have a viable plan for the future. The Regional MD
Advisor got through to me that I was just ignoring the future because I was so scared about it. The
warning signs were that I was having trouble getting to the corner shop and in the last two winters
was for 11 or 12 days at a time not being able to go out.

Make sure you are addressing these issues, there is a lot of help out there.

Taung .. that sounds amazing :) got a spare room, you could end up with a squatter, lol.

I would love something like that but there is nothing within a 40 mie radius of where I am [and my family are, doctors, hospital etc] and I am not eligible for the old crownies facilities, besides don’t think they’d appreciate my musical tastes.

I am so happ yfor you Taung, you going to have a BYOB party [thats bring your on brush, get em to do the decorating ;) ]

That’s such good news for you, Mr. Fox. I can understand what a relief it must be to have a plan of action in place. Can you post a little picture of your sea view/glimpse when you are fully installed?!

Spooky! I know that Tesco’s very well – Although I may have to stop going very soon, as am probably getting a reputation as harrassed mother with brood of children (one in power chair) who regularly play ‘chicken’ with pensioners in mobility scooters!…… lovely part of the country though, also having come from London we would never go back, hope you get a ‘sea view’ very soon.

That is a great idea, I will invite crips from far and wide and we will eventually take over the
whole upper level. It will be MD heaven.

…….had requests / PM’s for pics of my “Shangri La”. Here is the agents listing :-

Just like in Python, on one picture you can just about see the sea in the far distance “between the
    sky and the earth”.

Far more important is to be right in the town centre with everything I want just yards away but in this case
up three stories out of the grime and noise with rooftop gardens, lovely views and a grandstand seat for the carnival,
heliday, firework displays etc. On a practical note having the three levels of support available in the same
    place will be vital.

Looks ideal. I think it’s great that you have lots of local facilities on your doorstep. I have thought about moving from a freehold bungalow to a flat but would worry about service charges and possible future repair bills to common parts now that I am no longer working.

Do you know if the government pay service and maintainance charges if you don’t work in a similar way to how housing benefit works?
    Hope your move goes smoothly

Excellent points, thanks your god wishes.

In this case the charge is £ 125 per month but this does include Buildings Insurance, the Lower Level
    of Warden Care and repairs.

Do not think you can claim for these service charges.

I think you can, if my brain works right, I sometimes ave to produce a breakdown of what the service charges cover for here where I live [resident’s property management company] and some elements are covered and paid for by the Housing Costs people, it is worth a phone call or a form filled in to get a proper answer and maybe some extra £££.
