    Symptom

    Hello,

My husband has Becker’s and is still mobile but has had a new symptom this past month and I am wondering if anyone has anything similar. He will have a feeling of his hip being on fire and then a stabbing pain accompanied with it. We were told in passing from a doctor that it sounded like sciatica but we wanted to hear from this community and see if anyone had anything similar happen to them as well as any tips. A specialist in MD are not easily accessible to us so we are grateful for your input.

Hello, I have opmd and osteoarthritis in a few joints the hip being one of them and my upper leg muscles are weak and get pain in the hip and down the thigh but over the last few weeks it has been getting worse and now need to use a stick. But I wonder if there is a connection between the two. But what you describe your husband s pain is like the pain I have been experiencing. Not suggesting it is the same, but definitely worth getting it looked at by the doctor. Cc

Sciatica is a possibility although doesn’t sound like the sciatica I have. I wonder if it is something related to deterioration in the hip joint? Clearly thought, like Crazy Cat has suggested a proper medical investigation is needed. It may not be related to MD so it is worth looking at soon.
