    Pushchairs

I have a nearly 6 year old with Duchenne, who could sometimes do with the use of a pushchair (he is still very active and mobile, but does get tired when walking any distance). Most of the pushchairs available seem to have a 15kg weight limit and my son is now 18kg so is too heavy for them, although small for his age. There are some pushchairs out there that take a higher weight child, but I am concerned that he may be too tall (he is 110cm now). I wondered if anyone had come up against a similar problem and if they had been able to find a suitable pushchair or solution?

    Hi roobar,

I have just been having a quick browse and come across this pushchair. Its maximum load seems to be what you are looking for? Or there is another make that might be of interest. Hope you manage to find something suitable :)

I’m in the same position. My little boy is 4.5yrs old (17kgs (37.5lbs) & 1M tall). He’s outgrown his maclaren buggy both in weight and his leg length. We only need the buggy for longer walks when he tires and needs a rest.

I’m looking at a couple of options that may be worth you looking at
    maclaren major elite
baby jogger– there’s a couple of types – city mini (does up to 50lbs (22kgs) ) summit & elite (75lbs (24kgs)). The summit and elite look to be wider on the seat and more leg room although they are expensive £300-£400.
There was another one today called XTS buggy (all terrain) – It was larger than the baby joggers but had a great wide seat with lots of leg room
The other thing I noticed was that the websites all state 15kgs but if you read the manufacturers specification it appears to be higher. Worth checking to get actual allowable weight.
Hope this helps… let me know if you find any others ones
    :)
