    physio provision

    hi I have a 24 yr old son with dmd, does anyone one have a private physio. he is becoming more and more chair shaped. I do do stretches but i’m not a physio. can anyone advise???

    Do you have contact with an NHS physio at all? They may well know of private physics in your area that may be able to help you.

    I have had help from an actual MD trained physiotherapist.

    Maybe a good idea to contact the MDC on page link above and see
    If there is one in your area.

    I was in the same boat, local authority could not provide regular physiotherapy as I would not be seen as improving! I see a Neuromuscular Physio at my annual appointment and she liaises with the local physio that I pay privately. I found her by contacting a rehab centre in a nearby town who made some recommendations about who they knew of who might be able to do home visits on a private basis. She comes once a fortnight and the rest of the time my PAs do any stretching I feel I need.
