    These are big, big changes.

    Love the “Newly Diagnosed” section.

Have a problems navigating around an unfamiliar environment. It will obviously get easier
as you get used to it. Worried some might not have the patience.

    One question.

It seems several threads are missing completely and have been deleted. Is this so or
are they all there but hidden?

This is in no way a criticism and I hope will be received in the constructive spirit in
    which it is offered.

Did you try using the search function? As mentioned above, some threads from the ‘It’s My Life’ section and ‘Chat and Chill’ are in in the ‘OT Chat and Chill’ at the moment. This is because there were 30 pages of threads (488 threads) and I only had until 17:15, and didn’t want duplicate forums to add to any confusion. These threads will be sorted sometime next week. Hope that clears it up a bit :) If you have any issues locating certain threads, please PM me with what they were and I’ll look into it. The only threads I have deleted are spam.

    Thanks the reply and explanation.

We will be pleased to follow you into this brave new world !

I have just found some of the Freds I was missing.

Please excuse me, I am old and confused. You will have to
explain how my VCR works sometime.

Hey you’re very welcome! The forum had been in the previous layout since it began – if people weren’t a bit taken aback by it I’d be very surprised. This community you all have has so much potential, and having a forum layout which will harness all your experience and enthusiasm will make the most of that potential :)

    Still a little confused.

    I might need a tutorial.

I have a wonderful new App that I need to add to “The Appy Corner” and
a diet related question that I want to add to “It’s My Life”. Cannot find
them. How do I do this please? Sure it will work out but?

I did finally find “The Appy Corner”, but by then all my puff had gone and I did not actually put the posts on.

You ask for feedback on the new site. Well it is good and obviously a lot of thought has gone into it. I agree us
grizzled old veterans will get used to it, but I worry about new posters and people on their initial contact. We do
not want it in anyway to appear as a site designed by Medicos and full of medicalese. I remember that
after being told of it at the MD conference it took over a month of “lurking” before I plucked up courage
to actually do a light-hearted post.

In the past we have noted that so many people do just a few posts to get answers to a certain question
or worry but then are never seen again. What keeps our “Old Faithfuls” coming back? With
me it is the people I know and trust. I want to see how AMG is getting on testing her latest gizmo, how
far up Sarah’s drive the snow is, read Dovito’s latest poem, is Chagrin’s exoskeleton still chafing in unfortunate places,
how are Woogy and Gwen, news from Ranald’s latest Troll Hunt, what is happening with Foxy’s new wooden leg? After
a friendly chat with our peeps, then I might check out the latest news on Exon-Skipping. Then back
to see what people are reading, music they are playing, the pet photos and Cassini’s two brilliant
threads “What Did You Do Today” and “Usernames”.

It will be difficult to get the balance right. But I do feel people should at lease initially be
able to see on the main page our “cosy” threads :- “Chat and Chill”, “It’s My Life” and “Hints and Tips”

I think I may have been using the site wrongly for years. I sign in and immediately check on the
right, the list of latest posts. If I see one I go there to that section to view. If we cannot
see the fun bits it might be a it of a backward step.

Sorry for being rebellious and disloyal and it might not seem like it but I am
still pleased with your efforts. Every step in the right….etc.

Hmm … after sitting back and looking at the home page, I can see Taung’s point. Brain is yet to make any suggestions though, yet.

My problem is that I usually access the Talk MD site on one of the mobile devices that
are always on a lanyard around my neck. Then if I see anything that I want to
comment on or add to I fire up the main computer to sign in.

Since the changes, what I can see without actually signing in, is now a lot less
than before. Today I cannot see some of the threads and sub-folders till I actually log in.

Dare I suggest that most prospective new users will lurk around before daring to sign
up. They will not see “Chat and Chill” and “Hints and Tips” and not realise what
a fun-packed, whacky bunch of funsters we are on Talk MD.

I will speak to Helen about this next time I am in the office and try to figure out a plan. The cosy threads can be made into sticky threads to keep them on the first page of the board.

Taung…if you want to find anything – please use the search function for now, located underneath the log-in/log-out buttons.

As mentioned, the off-topic boards aren’t finished yet. This isn’t something I can complete in one session as it would take hours and hours, plus the forum would be offline for a much longer time.

I have written all this down and will take it to Helen next week.

At least I can sleep secure in the knowledge you will be getting triple pay for today.

Think I have worked something out on my other missing fred. Had “It’s my Life”, been simply renamed
    “Health Chat” ?

    I don’t get paid Taungfox… I’m just an intern.

It’s My Life has been split into several sections, but yes it is largely ‘Health Chat’. Reason being, health-related threads will naturally fall within this board and will be better picked up by the team @ Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, with the aim of more replies :)

    I rather suspected that.

My new opinion on the new Talk MD :-

    “Perfection and Grace” !!
