    Passport photos

Jut wondering how people are finding getting passport photos done? I went to a local camera shop and they were super helpful but he told me he has had trouble with photos getting rejected by the passport office. He said it would be better if we could remove headrest which was possible although meant my PA had to hold my head until the last minute before the photo was taken. I also had to whip off my nasal pillow too which if you think about it will make me look less like my passport photo!! The photographer suggested I write a covering letter with the passport renewal too.

    Anyone else had trouble?

I used to take passports photos when I ran my studio. I had to give it up becasue they were such a nightmare. Some examples. Amn 18 month old boy whose picture was rejected becasue he wore a blue T shirt. A six day old baby pic was rejected becasue his eyes were not open. A lady whose pic was rejected because her glasses were judged a little too far owver her eyes. I could go on but you can see that there is often no understadning of the human condition by those making these judgements. For my own belief I would have thought that the headrest could be removed in Photoshop quite easily, especially as it would be difficult for you not to have it there. I would also suggested doing it weeks, if not months in advance. We once had a case where the lady had four images rejected until she wrote them a rather stiff letter and they eneded up slecting the first one we had taken!

I can’t access the booth type.

They had us fold back of manual wheelchair down just incase. Was awful pic as he didn’t take it from my eye level. (He was tall). But it was accepted.

Done in supermarket photo place. They did say if it was rejected that they one do one free retake.

At that rate you could be going many times. The rules do say that the eyes must be level with the camera. Simply putting a white cloth over the head rest would have made the task very easy. I did all of mine within the studio, including one or two wheelchair folk. I increasingly got the idea that the only way through the system was to pay the people at the post office a large fee and they do the whole thing for you. They do seem to have a better success rate with exactly the same photographs. My udnerstanding, at least locally, was that they could not cope with folk wh0 were on wheels.
