    Nippy masks

I have used a nippy 3+ for around 20 years and because I couldn’t get on with the nose masks the hospital provided, I bought my own from a firm in London. Unfortunately the firm closed some 3 years ago, and I have run out of my stock of masks I bought from them.I can’t find anywhere that sells a silicone nasal mask 11-201 medium narrow. I have tried various masks recently from the hospital but none of them is comfortable when sleeping. Even my preferred one wasn’t perfect, I would have to pack it with soft material to prevent leaks and pain, but the hospital masks are awful.

My last mask is hanging on in there(!) but the silicone has split away from the plastic in places and it is a work of art to get it on! Anyone know of a glue that will work on silicone ?

I can’t help on this, but Sar78 might be able to help as she uses breathing equipment.

I don’t get on with nasal masks anymore. All of a sudden they changed the design I was supplied. The basic mask I preferred was discontinued much to my annoyance! The newer ones seem to be quite high tech looking and use the latest innovations but for me, do not work as well (I too had to stuff it with cotton wool and silicone gel strips to stop leakage and soreness). Due to this issue with finding the right nasal mask I went on to the nasal pillow/cushion and have used it ever since. This saves the bridge of my nose but can make my nostrils sore from time to time.

Thank you both. I have heard of nasal pillows but wondered if they were easy to dislodge?

I thought the same before I tried them but it sits quite comfortably under my nose, I was pleasantly surprised. The resmed Swift FX has different sizes of pillow, it’s important to get the right size otherwise hr can feel really uncomfortable and I found the air didn’t go up my nostrils at the right angle.

I used the blue naseal pillows with the soft black head gear made up of basically velcro till they stopped using it about 10 years ago and changed the matteriel they made the nasal pillows from .. ended up with a nose like a boxer. have tried other nasal kits but they all seem to be for men and not the right fit for a petit female.

I now go between the breeze head gear with nose mask as I dont get strap marks accross face like the other. although they have started making this cheaper quality. I used to get a good year out of a kit but find them really breakable now and have resorted to pre-duck taping them as they weaken and snap across the blue plastic that adjusts on front.

I also like the cloth sleepwear as its sturdier for travel as its all cloth and can be machine washed. although the srap marks on face is annoying
