    nausea

    Hi All

Just wondering if any others with muscle disease have problems with nausea.

I currently have stomach issues with nausea being a prominent feature but previously and presently I have problems with nausea on bad days when I am particularly fatigued. I have never mentioned this problem to my neuro but wonder if I should.

Wondered if others had similar problems.

    Thoughts please

    Thanks
    Gill

    Good question Gill.

Sorry you are having these problems and difficulties.

To answer your question, even though I have large problems with the stomach and things that I just cannot
eat, no it never gets to nausea and vomiting.

For years I was amazed that I did not have nausea. I have the the bloating, the delayed stomach emptying, the reflux, the
always feeling full but not actual nausea. There are an incredible number of things that I cannot eat but I think
my body knows them so well there is van extreme reaction before they get to thraot level never mind stomach.

Logically, aberrant MD stomach muscles could well cause nausea and vomiting, they are some sort of muscle spasm
aren’t they? In my case it never did.

Interesting. I do use a lot of antacids to ease bloating etc..

Sorry to hear you are suffering in this way it can’t be very nice. I feel like this occasionally and I usually find if I have something to eat it goes away. I’ve never really related it to MD but if you feel it is connected perhaps you should tell your consultant about it. Stomach problems are definitely MD related although MD effects us in so many different ways it is so hard to know what is MD and what isn’t.

Taungfox just read your message again and your symptoms are very similar to mine. Only thing is I had lost weight and I am now gaining again which I put down to lack of exercise due to worsening mobility where as you cant gain weight.

All my other tests are clear so it is being put down to Gut dysmotility due to my NMD. Going to be maintained on acid and anti-sickness medication as nothing that can really do about it.

Suspect yours will have the same cause.

    Of what fun for us

thanks very much for this. right on the point.

This all makes sense indeed and we have a new word Dysmotility.

You are right this is exactly similar.

I was on omeprazole for years too Claire.

    Hi Miracle,
Some effective tips for you to deal with nausea.
Discuss your nausea severity with your doctor and get proper medication and if the nausea is on severe condition than start medication as soon as you begin to feel nauseated. Break your meals in small meals and limit liquid with your meals. Use ginger juice and try acupuncture to cure nausea.
