Re: MYOPATHY & AVASCULAR NECROSIS
Hi Ketty1,
I have not come across avascular necrosis myself but there may be others on this site who might have – and we are getting new members all the time. The problems created by any major surgery must be common to a lot of people that have the added complication of muscle conditions. It’s good that the specialists you mentioned are aware of the issues and hopefully this will mean recovery is closely monitored. I have not had major surgery but do know how being immobile for even a week can take its toll. My wrist stiffened up when I was admitted with pneumonia, it was not a big concern at the time because I was so ill and therefore not a priority but it has made me aware ever since. All I can say is that with any period of enforced immobility it is good to keep an eye on everything.
I wish your son and you all the best,
Sarah
