    Hi.
I am new here and I am not from the UK. I live in the USA. I have Becker’s MD. I have been dealing with pressure issues for a long while now. I tried all the foam and gel cushions with no success. Then I found ROHO cushions! They are a bit expensive, but I can sit on one all day long and I no longer suffer excruciating bottom pain. I would suggest a 4 inch cushion. You can adjust the air to your liking. These cushions will change your life. ROHO is a company owned by Sunrise Medical. Check it out…

    Welcome to the forum Gregor.

Thanks very much for posting a great tip on your first visit.

My (privately bought) J cushion (J Deep) was over £100 – just another out of pocket expense not funded by the NHS. I’ve never got on with air cushions as they made me really unstable but I’ve heard loads of people use Roho who have MD. I’m cushion trying in May with my wheelchair clinic but they are pretty useless so I don’t have high hopes of their method but hopefully will find something for my new wheelchair sitting in their clinic at the moment. I suspect I’ll be back on the forum after that visit lol

I was having real issues with pressure sores especially underneath where my bottom hits the cushion and on the sides of my hips. A friend suggested vaseline as the rubbing was causing it also and this helped initially but then it got worse again. I then bought salveation by mama nature, This was like the vaseline but not so greasy and after using this for a week I made great gains. Twelve months on my pressure sores are all healed for the first time in years. I think the salveation thickens the skin in the areas of the rubbing, softens the skin and because it is slightly greasy/waxy, there is no hard rubbing of the skin.
