    more than 1 faulty gene

does anyone know or have heard of a family having more than 1 faulty CMT gene? I have had a blood test which has come back negative. I show all the symptoms of CMT and have for many years. I have a strong line in my family of CMT. All my symptoms are there, even the consultant said I am showing strong signs but as the blood test came back negative for the CMT1A gene which is what members in my family have they are not sure If I have it. :ty:

Hello and welcome Nelson. It is certainly not within my expertise, limited as it is, that there may be more than one faulty gene, but I am always prepared to learn, what further action ils your specialist taking?

I went to a nuerologist. next to useless. I then went back to my gp who is great and she has refered me to a specitlist in London so waiting on that now.

I am really glad you have a pro active GP. The quality of them varies so much. What did the neurologist tell you?
