Independence at home & grants etc

Hi All been browsing about for a bit, and you’ve probably already seen this site but there’s a link here to a place that helps with grants for many things and the specific criteria includes MD. Might be interesting?

    http://independenceathome.org.uk/help_for_you.html

The main site with lots of stuff was:

    http://www.disability-grants.org/

Lots of stuff on that one above.

While I’m here I was actually looking for help with disabled concessions for swimming. I need to try and do some form of exercise and at least try this. Anyone seen this anywhere?

Hi Weeble, great webs you posted

Pre cuts in my area (scotland) OAP, Disabled, weight issues, heart issues and unemployed via a form from GP got free access to public gyms and pools.. I believe now it is an annual fee and a reduced entry to pool each time. Ask your GP and check your Councils web pages.

on looking at my own councils “swimming concessions” page. oap, kids and students get up to 50% off but if you are an able bodied talented sportsman you get it free. lol

a further google of “swimming concessions card” showed pretty much same scheme over the UK. buy the card for small admin fee which gives you up to 50% off each visit. some areas had free sessions for kids and oaps(prob slow times) many also state free registered carer per disabled person admitted.
