High School student doing a project about DMD

    Hello all,
I am a high school student enrolled in AP Biology who is currently studying genetics. My final project for the semester is to create a presentation about a genetic disorder and it must include an interview with someone who has experience with our chosen genetic disorder. I chose DMD because I do not know a lot about it and I am interested in educating myself and my classmates. I am hoping to talk to someone on here about what is like to live with (or take care of someone with) Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The questions will be fairly general and will NOT require any personal information (name, age, address, etc). The only prerequisite is your consent to screenshot or copy-and-paste our conversation to be used in my presentation. Thank you and I hope to hear from some of you soon!

Hi and welcome to the Forum,

Thank you for taking an interest in the Condition Muscular Dystrophy Duchene for your presentation. I have highlighted your request with the MD Head office.

To give the Forum users an idea of whats involved it may be an idea to post some of your key questions.

    thanks

Thank you for the advice, Cat.

Some of the questions I am looking for answers to are:
What are the things you really want people (the general public) to know about Duchenne muscular dystrophy?
What do people with Duchenne muscular dystrophy experience both internally and externally?
For parents, what kind of stresses do you endure when caring for a child with DMD?
Although there is no cure yet for DMD, what treatments are most beneficial? Or is that dependent on each person?
In general, what can the daily life of a person with DMD consist of?
