    General Anaesthetic Worries

    Hi there

I would be grateful for your thoughts & help please.

I’m having my ovaries removed & 2 large cysts removed next week.

I’m so worried about the anaesthetic.

    Can’t have local or spinal.

Has anyone had a successful operation like this without any problems?

    Thank you in advance xx

    :welcome:

My biggest operation was spinal fusion at 10 hours long.

Have you talked to your Respiratory Team or Neurology about your pending operation?

I have always been told to make surgeon and anesthetist aware of potential “malignant hyperthermia” during sedation. They can tailor the sedation. There is a test for it which I was negative for but I still make surgeon aware.

No, have not spoken to anyone else only my gynaecologist.
Had my pre op assessment yesterday,
Blood tests, ecg(which was fine), water sample.

I know I will see the anaesthetist on the day of my operation, and will mention what you said.
    Thank you.
