Sadly yes, there is one based in Glasgow and another in Edinburgh – might be worth an email or phone call though.

May 6, 2013 at 5:33 pm #87593Re: Dreaded ESA….Good News for those of you on his thread awaiting the result of your ESA assessment.
The DWP on the 30th April released their latest official statistics.
This shows that more people are now being put into the support group and
receiving the unlimited support.35 % are now going into the support group and 37% into the WRAG and only
27% Fit for Work. The numbers qualifying for the Support Group were 7 % in the first year, 22 % in the
second year and 35 % now. Amazing difference and reflect the changes forced on the DWP
by the independent Harrington reviews. Even better is that year three of Harrington
has now been implemented but is not included in these figures, so current people
are getting much fairer treatment.http://statistics.dwp.gov.uk/asd/workingage/esa_wca/esa_wca_summary_apr13.pdf
By definition though many people in years one and two will be in the wrong group.

It is terriblefor the first two year-ers tey should reapply or ask to be assessed and if they are placed into a higher group, sue Atos for negligence.

More official figures released on 9th May 2013.
Very interesting statistics on Fraud and Error :-
Fraud and Error together remain the same at 2.1 %. As Fraud also remains at 0.7 % this means
error is 1.4 %.Strange we are not paying ATOS a hundred million pounds a year to go in and sort out out
all the Error at the DWP ?http://statistics.dwp.gov.uk/asd/asd2/index.php?page=fraud_error

May 27, 2013 at 2:36 pm #87596Re: Dreaded ESA….Actually having a margin for human error of only 1.4% is damn good, the figues for the financial difference between the two period will of course increase, benefits increase each year and this figure is not just ESA or DLA/PIP it is across the whole benefit system, taking in Child Benefits, Pensions and Pension Credit, JSA and the miriad of benefits paid.
So from every single new claim or change of claim [which for those working and claiming means a change every week] for every single benefit payable 3 out of 200 will result in overpayment, considering the volume and specificy of the rules and regs [and from personal experience] that is not too shabby.
Yes the £sd of those errors sounds shocking £3.5 BILLION, but that is the 1.4%, my calculator blew a fuse when I tried to work out the 100% …… and if Atos were totally in charge that margin of error would quadruple over night.

The DWP on the 23th July released their latest official statistics.
Completed IB to ESA reassessments in the period from
September 2012 to November 2012 shows:• 77 per cent of claimants were entitled to ESA. Within this –
o 36 per cent of claimants were placed in the WRAG, and
o 41 per cent of claimants were placed in the SG; and
• 23 per cent of claimants were assessed as FFW.This is amazing. In year one only 7 % were in the Support Group and receiving “unlimited support”.
Now it is 41 % and will rise further as the Harrington year three review is not included in this.Again, people re-assessed in year one are owed a severe apology and are presumably the reason
for the large backlog of appeals."Even if you are not paranoid, it does not mean they are not out to get you!".

Again, people re-assessed in year one are owed a severe apology …I think we’re all owed an apology for the misguided, vicious and ideologically-driven way that this government has gone about its “reforms” of the system, and the levels of stress that it has caused. I predict we’re unlikely to get such an apology.

Did the benefit saving of those 23% cover the costs of reassessing the 100%, and Atos’s bonus, the fat-cats golden handshake, the lobbyists bar tab and the expert consultants expenses.
Still, doesn’t do anything to improve chances, create opportunities, for people to find fair-paying work.
