    donate equipment

good morning peeps. I have a problem, last month I ordered a 5ft, 4 way folding wheelchair / suitcase ramp.
however, the company sent me a 10ft one by mistake. on Friday I received my 5ft ramp and I asked the delivery driver if he was picking up the 10ft ramp. he told me that there was nothing on his sheets.
after he had left, I rang the company and they informed me that I could keep the 10ft ramp as an act of good will. now although this is generous of them, im stuck with 2 ramps.
so, im asking where I can donate the 10ft one. I would love it to go to an MD person but really any disabled person will do.
I would advertise it but I don’t want some scum bag getting it and weighing it in for scrap metal.
so does any body need a ramp. its brand new, never been used and all someone has to do is collect it. see link below for price and pictures

ps although the link is from amazon. my ramp isn’t but its the same ramp and price. :nono:

wow that is really kind of you.

If you get no takers, have you considered Ebay. start bid more that half its value and donate a percentage to MD or other charity direct. that way you have given someone a bargain and helped the charity or bought another piece of equipment you need yourself. Ebay are starting a promotion drive of 20 free listings(any start price from 13th May

what you could do is work out the weight and length and see if you could post it by hermes. I posted a 13kg box of dolls house bits for £11 with myhermes.

There used to be a section on the Target MD magazine where equipment could be offered either free, free with postage, for a price etc. Would you like me to contact Ruth, see if she can help? Or alternatively it could be ‘advertised’ on the FaceBook page for a MD-er to make contact with HQ on your behalf??

    hello,

I will pass this on to our volunteer fundraising manager in the North West who may know of someone who could make use of this. I’m sure this could really help someone out!

    Thanks, Helen

    Hi littlestef

Thanks for your generosity. We no longer have a classified ad section in Target MD, but Helen’s suggestion sounds like a great one.

    Take care
