I have been reading a DWP document relating to migration from DLA to PIP. If you take a look at question 9, it states that those of us with indefinite awards may not need to attend a face-to-face assessment. I hope that offers some encouragement to you guys. It certainly does to me as i am still ambulant!

Well spotted, ranald, and thanks for flagging this up.
There are quite a few “might”s in these faqs. The more one hears, the more one realises that they haven’t really worked out exactly what they’re doing yet.
December 14, 2012 at 2:06 pm #86987Re: DLA indefinite awards and PIPIt also looks like those with an indefinite award won’t be assessed until October 2015 at the earliest according to this article

Although if I’ve read it right, anyone who can walk at all won’t qualify for HRM
December 14, 2012 at 10:57 pm #86988Re: DLA indefinite awards and PIPYou are right Redpanda, i won’t qualify and certainly don’t expect to qualify for PIP. Not at any rate.
I have been in receipt of DLA since 2007, that’s five years more that alot of people, i’m not greedy, they are welcome to it. I won’t crawl to anyone, i just can’t stand all this bollocks about my losing DLA helping to rescue the country. I suspect they are telling an “untruth”.
December 14, 2012 at 11:33 pm #86989Re: DLA indefinite awards and PIPPeople need to calm down, My nephew suffers from limb girdle muscular dystrophy he can’t propel a wheelchair due to lose of muscle in his upper body, He can’t walk without pain or discomfort and suffers from frequent falls, to the extent he has had stitches due to these accidents.H e has to walk so his muscles do not freeze, He can’t walk but tries/ Not his fault he can’t wheel his wheelchair.
I think the early adopters will kick up a fuss and thing will change , You just watch. So my nephew is told to walk, he falls in the main road can’t get up and god forbid is hit via a car. HELL WILL BREAK LOSE.
My nephew has paid his taxes he never asked for this life changing condition
December 15, 2012 at 12:16 am #86990Re: DLA indefinite awards and PIPI am pretty calm Charlieboy, there is little point in bitching about a raising of the bar. One day a guy is deemed disabled, the next day he’s not. I am only mildly effected by Becker MD, i can get away with it on the flat. I have always felt uncomfortable being eligible for anything, i will simply cut my cloth to suit my means.
December 15, 2012 at 12:38 pm #86991Re: DLA indefinite awards and PIPwhat i can not and will not ever understand is, the government always states that this country needs to save x amount of money and everyone is going to feel the cuts. so why the hell are we sending so many billions of pounds to countries like africa and india . now some people will say that its charity and by me writing this, im a racist. but these countries are corrupt and can always afford things like guns. what happened to charity begins at home :?: surely its about time we got our own country sorted out.

I agree with your sentiment, the country has been locked into overseas aid deals that in the current fiscal climate are unworkable and yes in many of these areas the poltiics means that only a fraction of the money sent does its purpose. It may make me sound uncharitable, but if overseas aid is doing such a great job how come there are just as many charities [wateraid, worldvision, oxfam etc] still needed so urgantly and so much, we must be funding the fourth genertion by now. Maybe Mr Osbourne nee to go see a financial planner and put Uk Plc under an IVA
