    CK- MD

Hi all, my son is 10 months old very active. His motor skills are normal. However his CK-MD came very high 900 . I am not sure what we supposed to to next. Could possibly be something else rather than the muscular dystrophy? His enzymes from the liver are also high. Can anyone help please ?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Clearly a very worrying situation for you. It raises two questions. Firstly was there a particular reason to have the CK level tested? Secondly, what have your medical advisors said to you about the result and what they were going to do? Raised CK levels can come from a number of complications, so I would imagine that you have been referred to a Paediatrician.

    Hi andreea

The CK levels are not massively high however as you are aware max normal levels are 200.

raised ck levels cause elevated liver function test results but do not effect the liver.

My CK levels range from 5000 to 20,000 with my Liver ALT at 250 with normal being 10 to 40 for liver ALT, I have had various scans on my liver and there is no issues with it so put the elevated live test down to being caused by high CK.

Regarding your son yes there are many other things it could be apart from muscular dystrophy and I am sure your doctors will be carrying out these tests.

    Where abouts are you from?

May I asked what brought about the concern for a blood test and especially the CK and LF test.

    Any other symptoms?

Do you or your partner have any underlying health issues.

As a father myself I hope this works out the best it can for you
