    Christmas Bonus

It appears that we are to be the lucky recipients of the ten pounds Christmas bonus courtesy of those zany funsters at DLA HQ, hooray!

I am sure that by now most of you will be overcome with excitement and planning the mother of all shopping sprees but i would advise a different course of action…

My advice would be to frame it in a prominent place in your front room so that you can gaze longingly at it in years to come as the Christmas bonus will be just a fading memory, maybe it was merely a dream? No it can’t be because there up on the wall, next to the Jack Vettriano print and the 50 meter bronze swimming certificate is the proof from halcyon days of plenty.

Mmmm, ten quid – what shall I do with mine? Alcohol would probably be beneficial in this weather… *logs on to look for deals and amend Tesco order*. Or maybe another few pairs of heat holder socks? Decisions…

    Thermal underwear, more thermals.

You can never have enough thermals.

Still better than a kick in the teeth! Not sure if it’s still given but for WTC it used to be £5 christmas bonus. I like the way the letter goes onto say words to the effect “we might reassess you and take away your DLA altogether”…very touching! I wonder how many people phone them up worriedly thinking they will lose their DLA after the letter though?
