    Whatever Happens…..

I have had a lucky escape.

Earlier in the the week I worked out the rest of the world have bigger and thinner TV’s than
me and my 19 inch one and even though it is not actually broke (my usual rule) it is time to get another one.

Got down to Currys and having got over the shock of finding TV’s are on the upper floor was able to
use the most expensive looking lift I have ever seen. Bewildering array of TV sets and when they found I was at
the cheap and of market I was assigned a 14 year old trainee. Strangely he was not interested
in which set I chose, just that the poor old crip would be protected and have “peace of mind”, whatever
happens. He was pushing like mad Currys “Whatever Happens” extended warranty. I now find the media yesterday
were full of what an overpriced con it is, does not cover lots of things and you can get better prices
anywhere but most manufacturers offer better warranties anyway.

30 minutes on the Internet and John Lewis matched the price and give a full five year
    guarantee. Lucky escape.

We noted last year that John Lewis also give two year guarantee on Apple products.

When I went to Curry’s for a new washer dryer, they tried to sell me the woteva’appens crap. I said “you want me to pay £7 per month, just in case, hmmm £7 x 12 months x 5 years [average machine life] = more than this machine costs and a hell of a long way to its replacement” chappie said “This machine might not last five years” I smailed and said “Nor might I”

I never have bought the extra warranty guarentee not to pay out con stuff.

woohoo JL, what a deal Foxy

Whatever happens, do not touch with a bargepole this kind of “extended warranty” that they’re always trying to sell you. It’s never worth it, and you can always find a better deal elsewhere. Well done, Mr Fox.
