    Warning over funding cuts to disability organisations

    Following newspaper reports about the future of a number of quangos, including the Independent Living Fund, Muscular Dystrophy Campaign Acting Chief Executive, Robert Meadowcroft, has warned that axing disability organisations could make it harder for people with disabilities to live independently.

    I wonder if the sticky issue is not so much the cost of the care [independant or otherwise] but the cost of the organisation to oversee the provision of that care or assess and distribute the fund for independant care.

    There was a report a few years ago about the cost of benefit fraud, it was the ratio of how much it cost the fraud section to exist, investigate and catch the offenders versus how much was being fraudulently claimed.
