    The Spirit of Christmas is coming!

    Why not get into the Spirit of Christmas and attend one of our festive carol concerts? We have concerts taking place all over the country in some of the UK’s most splendid churches and cathedrals, with readings given by celebrities and special guests.

    This week we launched, in conjunction with the Citizen newspaper, the 8th annual Spirit of Christmas at Gloucester Cathedral which will feature festive performances and readings.

    We are delighted to announce that River City actresses Eileen McCallum and Lorna Anderson will be hosting our Spirit of Christmas carol concerts in Scotland.

    Eileen will be hosting the event at Paisley Abbey on the 4 December and Lorna will serve as host at St Andrew’s & St Marnock’s Church, Kilmarnock on 27 November.

    Worcester Cathedral comes alive on Sunday 12 December with a magical evening of Christmas carols, festive readings and a host of performers including the Worcester Male Voice Choir, Trio Annon, Stream of Sound, the Harvington Handbell Ringers, Vocal Variations and the St Mary’s Chamber Choir.

    Star of stage and screen Olivia Nash MBE, otherwise know as ‘Ma from Give my Head Peace’ will be reading ‘The Night before Christmas’ at the Spirit of Christmas concert in Willowfield Parish Church, Belfast on 17 December.

    The Citizen Newspaper are featuring stories each week from local people affected by muscular dystrophy in Gloucestershire. The stories are going to raise awarenss of the condition and help promote the Spirit of Christmas event at Gloucester Cathedral on the 9th December.

    Lisa Griffin, whose nine-year-old son Luke has spinal muscular atrophy has spoken, about the condition to raise awareness of it and encourage people to buy tickets for the Spirit of Christmas concert next month. To read all Lisa’s story follow this link.

    Gloucester Spirit of Christmas is only a week away and we are so gratefull to the local awareness The Citizen are giving the event. Last week, a local family talked their experience of musuclar dystrophy….
