    Steroids side effects….need advice please

    Hi there, my son was diagnosed with duchenne/intermediate muscular dystrophy in 2010. He is now 9 and has been on steroid treatment since last year April. I have seen a lot of changed in his behaviour and temperament, also he is in great denial of his condition and having real issues coping with it all specially when some kids in his class don’t miss any opportunity to point it out to him. Please I am desperate to talk to someone who understands. Really feel isolated and helpless. Sorry for the whining. Sara

    HQ have sent me a link to the factsheet they have prepared. Not sure whether this will be of help Steroids

    They also raised the point, have you mentioned this to your neurologist? An alteration to the dosage might help.

    Thankyou so much for your reply….I’ve raised my concerns a few times. I’m going to call them again and see what can be done. My other concern is how I can help him come to terms with his condition and how I can help him learn how to deal with issues caused by other children.
