The old link is inactive:
http://oldsite.musculardystrophyuk.org/talkmdindex.php
I had to come via the main MD site then the forum link. Is it possible for Admin to mass pm members to give them the link below? or add a redirect from the one above? I think me may lose a few people otherwise

What on earth have they done? I can’t believe how awful every bit of it is!
Ido t think that it is iPhone or iPad comparable either? Please someone do something!November 11, 2015 at 10:10 pm #102611Reply To: New forum launchedI appear to be lucky.
I am getting in and managing to post perfectly well.
I have been using iPad for information purposes.
Good idea from Launton.

November 17, 2015 at 12:34 pm #115708Reply To: New forum launchedHi LittleStef
here are improvements being worked on by the outside MD peeps, we are a little in their hands at the mo. Things will improve.
Despite all attempts things happened all of a sudden and we did not have enough time to email the membership and give them adequate notice of the switch. Please stick with us, us gals [MDHQ & Mods] are digging our stilettos in and chasing improvements.

November 18, 2015 at 12:37 am #116750Reply To: New forum launchedHad no idea we was back online. Been checking every day & only just thought to try via the main site.
Not keen on the layout, as others have alluded to but, would advise it’s a case of the fear of something new. I hope it becomes more familiar the more we all use it.
November 18, 2015 at 12:44 pm #117305Reply To: New forum launchedWas there no request for feedback as input for the new forum from the people that use the forum every day? Or will things just be added as it goes along by request?
It looks very nice though.
November 18, 2015 at 5:19 pm #117463Reply To: New forum launchedHi Guys,
We Mods and MD Admins had many many and a lot more discussions about how the new forum should look and the features it should have. Due to circs beyond our control things had to happen all of a sudden, our initial plans went out the window, and there were some ‘issues’ when the new forum went live.
Fingers crossed the wrinkles are being ironed out and new features added.

November 20, 2015 at 3:45 pm #118345Reply To: New forum launchedHi everyone, really sorry that the forum disappeared. The redirect from the old site to the new site wasn’t working for around 24 hours due to the whole website having issues :(. So glad it is back now!
We have added some additional features this week which you can see on the homepage and the edit function. We have also moved the login button on mobile. Already planned in is the PM function and a couple of other things.
Please let us know of anything you are missing or wish list,
Best wishes,

April 19, 2016 at 11:26 am #127542Reply To: New forum launchedDear Forum maintenance peeps,
I understand from AMG that the option to PM other users is in the post. Thank you, it’s convenient to message some people some time without the prying eyes of the world watching ie certain government departments .
Just an observation, regardless of whether I’m signed in or not, if there’s an update to a post or thread, on the dashboard or shop front so to speak, it may well not have updated information or list the most recent posts or threads on “last updated”. It lists historic posts as the most up-to-date but, if you click on the link, voila, new posts. I’ve noticed this is often the case where a mod has deleted a spammers thread but, it’s not consistent & I can’t highlight a pattern I’m afraid.
Speaking of prying eyes, would it be possible to maybe have an established members only or password protected section? I hope you understand I don’t wish to incriminate anyone or encourage anyone to do anything illegal but, I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I would love to discuss certain situations & experiences that may benefit other people without being observed by the wider world.
I avoid social media & abandoned that years ago for exactly these reasons, because your social media is monitored. Hence the name change until I’m done with court.
Just an idea. It may prove more problematic or divisive than helpful & PMing will suffice.

There is a known problem with doing this, if areas are set as ‘private’ sadly it locks it from everyone except us mods and admins, even though the wigglies (very technical term) are set otherwise to allow members only.

The list of threads on the right side, are just new threads. Others are listed in the ‘most recent posts’ if a thread (new or old) has a new post added it is listed there.
Simples!

I was just toying with ideas. I thought it may prove problematic but, also if for some reason somebody doesn’t have the code/pin/elevated status to access it they may feel aggrieved.

That’s not what I’m referring to I’m afraid. I can see quite clearly the column on the far right that states “recent topics”. I’m talking about there appears to be a glitch where under “last updated” it doesn’t always indicate the most recent post or that a thread has been updated.
I’ve taken a print screen but, can’t post it so I’ll give you an example:

2 days, 4 hours agoBut, in fact the last update was yesterday 1 day & two hours ago .
I wouldn’t necessarily click on that section knowing there’s not been any update or recent posts to any of the threads contained within when in fact if you open that section there clearly has been.
As I say, my observation is, & it may be just a coincidence, that same thread is the one where there was a new topic from a spammer earlier that’s since been deleted but, either way, I have posted myself under the banner thread of news & campaigns but, it hasn’t registered as a ‘last update’.

gotcha… Known problem, the post count for newbies are wrong too. Many of these things are ‘wordpress’ issues rather than an ‘MD,IT’ issue, if ya get me.
