New E Magazine Service From Your Library….

We have reported that most libraries these days offer services for housebound people to
    download Audiobooks and E-Books.

Over the last years a large number of our libraries have started to offer a service where
you can read your favourite magazines at home. The main vehicle for this seems to be
Zinio, the woeld wide provider of E-Magazines.

Weirdly there is no overall policy on this, it is left to individual libraries to see
if they can afford it from their budget. Contacting my library this week I found they were
actively making a decision on the service. I explained how many elderly and disabled
people are not able to get to the library, especially in Winter.

Just googling “Free e-magazines library” reveals an amazing number of our cities and towns
do this. Bristol, Aberdeen, Cumbria, Leicester, Worcester, Solihul, Westminster, Edinburgh,
Brent, Durham, Flint, Bradford and most Welsh Libraries to name a few.

    Keep up the pressure.

    What a delightful -get-out-of-doing- phrase.

It would appear my county council offers e-book e-audiobook, but only for computers and kindle fires, not Kindles in general.

The information you are looking for is at the link in the first post However this is a service for the United Kingdom rather than worldwide. Your local public library will also have details of this service.

Did you wonder whether the TargetMD magazine could be downloaded for free? It can only be read online and not down loaded at the present time, I think.
