Christine and Neil Hamilton got into the ‘”spirit” of movie classic Ghost to raise awareness of At the Movies, a movie-themed fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.

February 25, 2011 at 12:10 pm #79185Re: Neil and Christine Hamilton recreate famous movie sceneI don’t think journalists [and I use the word lightly] will ever be supportive or encouraging of anything associated with the Hamiltons

February 25, 2011 at 12:14 pm #79186Re: Neil and Christine Hamilton recreate famous movie sceneThank You to Christine for mentioning the MDC twice.
But as so often on this type of show it could have been so much more and
got lost in the celebrity gossip angle. The first mentions was when host Vanessa showed on screen the Ghost
recreation photograph, with the joke “Is Neil naked?”. CH’s response was
girlish giggles about the horrible photograph and sudden protestations
that she had nothing to do with it, it was not her idea, it was just a charity
thing, it was the people at the MDC it was their idea. Then off
to more celebrity gossip.Vaneesa later said “You’re off on the Inca Trail ?”. Then Chritine did simply
say one sentence that it was to raise money for the MDC. Then many
sentences on the difficulties and privations that poor Christine was
going to have to go through (in between luxury hotels I assume). Then
more celebrity gossip of course (did enjoy her telling Jordan “I would
rather be an old bag than a plastic bag”).In the final minute Vanessa asked CH about the Inca trail again and she ignored
the question and continued talking to the person on her other side.Unfair of me to expect more I suppose but I wanted one sentence about
Muscular Dystrophy or the noble work of the MDC.There was publicity though, two mentions of the MDC, thanks CH.

February 25, 2011 at 12:43 pm #79187Re: Neil and Christine Hamilton recreate famous movie sceneYes, it was a shame. It would have been good to see the item raising a bit more awareness of MD but that’s TV for you
I am hoping there will be more publicity, celebs often do the rounds on chat shows. Good on her for doing it though

February 27, 2011 at 4:21 pm #79188Re: Neil and Christine Hamilton recreate famous movie sceneI’m not so sure about MDC’s choice of ambassadors. Seems to me CH was more interested in self-promotion than promotion of MDC. If the Hamiltons are received so negatively by the media and CH has now compounded their views by not even delivering a simple message about MDC, maybe it’s time to nurture more positive ambassadors. I think the campaign deserves more than just any old media coverage and be grateful for it!
February 27, 2011 at 11:28 pm #79189Re: Neil and Christine Hamilton recreate famous movie sceneThe Miss England shots of her emulating the Oscars got a great deal of coverage [saw it on several online media sites]. They all just gave a one sentence mention of MDC.
