    Myo Gesture Control Armband….

Amazing new “Quantum Leap” technology has arrived :-

    The Myo Gesture Control Armband.

Simple idea. control your computer or any gadget eventually just with a movement or
gesture or twist of your arm.

    http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-57571180-1/myo-gesture-control-armband-uses-muscle-power/#!

    Works with IOS and Android.

Potential unlimited and could be the holy grail for those of us with failing arm and hand muscles.

Seems amazingly cheap for the pre-order price of $ 149

It looks incredible! There is so much in the way of technological innovation coming through and being made available to everyday folk. Lets hope this continues

Here is the amazing video showing the man controlling Computers, household gadgets,
making presentations all with just a flick of the wrist or turn of the arm or a flick of
the finger. In the last item he even posts to Facebook while in motion on the Ski Run.

Where will it all end? Have you been on a course for all this “Paddery” or is there a font of knowledge
deep in the bowels of the interwebby thing?

AMG, right on the point as always. I too would have problems with some of the
more expansive gestures. I have e-mailed the company earlier today for
    clarification on these issues.

Presumably the device could be re-programmed for different gestures to assist those with very limited movement ranges, but the technology idea is awesome.

That is virtually word for word what I asked them, and as us MD people have wasted muscles and feel
the cold, if it works through a couple of hefty sweaters.

Got the reply back from the Myo Armband people. They seem to have all the answers to the problems I raised. Interesting
to see they use EMG sensors as input the very way most MD is detected.

    “Hi William,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Myo will use a combination of smaller and larger gestures. Some gestures will require no movement except for the hand such as fist, point etc., while others may combine a hand gesture with an arm movement.

You may be interested in taking a look at the demos that we recently showed at Consumer Electronics week to get a better idea of the type of gestures that will be supported at launch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o62TzZrw5s

Myo requires contact with the skin and at this time must be worn on the forearm as it reads the EMG signals given off by your forearm muscles. However, it will likely be possible to wear Myo under clothing with our final design.

I hope this helps and if you have any further inquiries, please let me know!

    Kind regards,

    Lauren
