Introduction and help
Hi!
Both my daughter and I have myotonic muscular dystrophy. My condition was only diagnosed after my daughters birth and we were lucky enough that we had a diagnosis shortly after birth. She is currently finishing her year 6 in mainstream and will be going to a special school in September.
My concern is that tomorrow she will be watching 3 sex education videos. 1- about girls and changes at puberty ( we have discussed these). 2- about boys and changes- including masturbation. 3- about sex
I feel it’s important for her to watch these as all her peers will be discussing it. She is bound to come home asking questions if the videos haven’t gone over her head , but I am not sure how to explain these things to her. She does come across a lot younger than what she is. I had no problem with my son, who had very few questions.
Anybody got any ideas how to be truthful but to keep it basic?
