This is sad news. There needs to be a clear and considered plan as to how those who receive ILF funding are going to manage – when this first came into the spotlight it seemed a way off but 2015 is only the year after next now and we all know how long things take to go through. I get frustrated when only half a proposal is given, we are told the fund will close but not what will happen then and this creates confusion, anxiety and stress. I no longer receive ILF funding as I have been found eligible for NHS Integrated Continuing Healthcare but it’s still a subject I feel very strongly about.

like you i dont get ILF. but with me i dont need it. however i still find it disgusting with what the government are systamaticly doing to the disabled community.
following this mornings court result, i was watching prime ministers questions. a question was put to him concerning dame tani and the position of sports minister. it was put to mr cameron, if hed put a block on her being given the position. to which there was no reply but he did go quite red faced.
over the last few months, something that my teacher used to say to me keeps coming back. “children should be seen but not heard”. with the government, i now keep getting the feeling that “disabled people should not be seen, or heard”.

Sad news. A lot of people were relying on this case.

The I.L.F. will close and the payments will cease. Adult social care will be a problem and there
will be no easy answer for it’s funding. Local authorities do not seem to have the resources
for their current needs what will happen in 2015?

This scares me…perhaps the PM needs to spend a few months in a wheelchair…I know that sounds sinister but I mean voluntary…sort of.

    What about second breakfast?

You have a valid point – until somene physically tries something they have no idea of its reality.

Decades ago Matthew Parish did a documentary where he spent a week living on “Dole Money” [it was that long ago, lol]. Okay back then [could have been late 1970’s] he managed but even he conceeded that doing it for a week was tough, having to do it for a never ending period of time would be utterly demoralizing. I would LOVE to see a politico from each party spend a month in their own constituency, living as a family on the maimum benefit their circumstances would entitlement. Would not achieve anything productive, but be very entertaining viewing :p

camerons got not no excuses for the way hes treating the disabled comunity. we did this country proud at the paralympics and yet its like we are being punished at every given opportunity.
you would think that a man who has personal experience of how disability effects people, would be more sympathetic.
however, there are times that i keep thinking if hes lashing out because of the loss he suffered.
