    F2F Assessments Stopped by DWP…

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) on Monday put on hold in-person assessments for disability benefit claimants as a precautionary measure against unnecessary exposure to infection.

Think this is for three months only.

    Worryingly paper assessments will continue.

My last two assessments were by F2F. On the last one the man stopped the visit after ten minutes and told me he could see my situation and I would have nothing to worry about in his report. I
had to insist he looked at my level access shower and electric profiling bed. Do feel it will be
much easier for them to ignore things and reduce benefits if it is just a paper only system.

Everything else seems to be put on hold why not this flawed testing regime?

Since the benefit reforms in 2010 we have all been reassessed three or four times now. We are all ten years older and our conditions have “progressed” and worsened.

What is the point in just carrying on? It is just a waste of public money that is needed elsewhere in the current national emergency.

You had to bring logic into it, didn’t you. How are HMG going to scratch the backs of their corporate mates, if they were to stop the meaningless re-assessments?

I worry about re assessments personally as I do not trust them. For that reason it is very unlikely I will apply for one even though my condition is much worse that it ever was.

    This is shocking to read!

A poor gentleman whose medical condition is sadly getting worse, is fearful of applying for benefits that should rightfully be his because he is convinced or benefits system will not treat him fairly.

A biting and savage indictment of government policy and attitude to disabled people.

Sadly it is even worse than this, people could just sit back and choose not to be reassessed. Now virtually all the benefits have had the lifetime awards abolished and replaced by continual reassessment.

Many would agree with the above gentleman.
