    Is there any chance that embryo research can contribute to the search into a cure for muscular dystrophy

    Hi angiej,

    The first thing that comes to my mind is the research in Newcastle for mitochondrial myopathy. They are doing research on embryos in order to develop an IVF technique to stop the condition being passed on to future generations. You can read more here:

    There is also the possibility of embryonic stem cells in the future, but this research field is still in its early stages.
