The internet is a wonderful thing. Not that I took the time to explain to my troll but, from my waking moment until I go to bed my pc is on. It’s my window to the world because all my friends are able bodied & work. I’m able too see & speak to my Estonian lady friend every day, normally several times a day, on the webcam. I can speak to my nieces, do shopping, write on forums etc. etc. but, the down side is the evolution of the troll or keyboard warrior I call them  . It gives some, a minority, the platform to vent their prejudiced & ignorant view of the world.

This is a totally excellent point, that despite a few downsides the internet is the most wondrous thing.

Love your description of “Window to the World”. I too have it on constantly, either on my lightweight netbook
or even having either the Nexus 7 or iPod Touch on a lanyard around my neck to get the audible alerts from facebook,
    youtube, gmail etc.

I have broken my record of last year and did not go outside the door for 20 days thanks to the internet. I
also do my banking online and even renew my library books there. Actually that is changing mostly
I just download Audiobooks from the Libraries new service.

It is the most amazing tool ever ! (I accept your rider than it does also bring some other “tools” out of the woodwork)
