Concerns on research funding raised in letter to The Times

A letter raising concerns about cuts to vital research funding by the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), which includes the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign as a signatory, has been published in The Times today.

Although the letter is behind The Times paywall, you can read the letter in full on the AMRC Chief Executive’s Blog.

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign has been warning that proposed cuts to government spending on clinical research could stop much of the vital work being done to find cures for progressive and sometimes life-limiting neuromuscular conditions. Muscular Dystrophy Campaign Director of Research, Dr Marita Pohlschmidt, has commented on potential research funding cuts ahead of the Spending Review announcement next week.

    What are your thoughts?
