Bone Health Q&A with Dr Wong

    Hello all,

On 21 June from 6pm – 7:30pm we are holding a Q&A with Dr Jarod Wong on bone health in neuromuscular conditions. Dr. Wong is a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist in Glasgow and has major clinical and research interest on bone health, growth and puberty in people with chronic conditions, especially those with neuromuscular conditions like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Dr Wong will answer questions on all neuromuscular conditions so this is not DMD specific. You can leave your questions through this link before the Q&A takes place.

    Kind regards,

    Joel

Sadly, like so many things it is restricted to Facethingy. Many of us hate it and will not use it, is there not a way that can be found to access this in any other way?

    Hi embayweather,

Unfortunately this is Facebook only however we always publish the summary of the our Q&As as news stories on our main website. This usually occurs a few days after the Q&A takes place. I would encourage you to leave a question here and I will ensure Dr Wong is able to answer this on the day. I will highlight when and where you can see an answer to your questions by commenting on here shortly after the Q&A has taken place.

    Best wishes,

    Joel

I prob wont make the facebook Q & A. can you ask couple of questions on behalf of myself and a friend?

1 the benefit of supplements on older (30+) females with MD eg Calcium, folic acid etc
2 the benefits of passive assisted stretches to protect bones and joints for male or female in the 30+ group. Any documented advise to show NHS Physio who refuse to treat MD.
3 Any way to protect bones from regular symptoms that effects bones that average lady sees as they reach menopause.

    thanks

Thank you that help Joel. My question is very simple, what can we MD sufferers do to help us maintain maximum bone health? Whilst my joints are now becoming loose in my knees I really do want to keep the bits either side as healthy as they can be. Like Catatude, my local physios refuse any form of treatment so it would be extremely valuable to now how we can help ourselves.
