Another ESA form to fill in

    Hi folks,
Three years ago I had to fill in a form for transferring to ESA. I was put in the support group. I thought that was the end of it.
Not so. Today I received another form which looks the same and it seems I am required to fill it in all over again. I rang the number supplied, as I wanted to find out why this had been sent to me but (you guessed it) they were too busy to speak to me. I hung on for ten minutes of Vivaldi’s four seasons and many recorded messages but no actual person answered the phone.
Has anyone else had to do this process twice over?
    Thanks,
    Sybylla

    No but this is correct.

The maximum award now is three years! Then reassessment.

Last year when I was migrated into support group I rang the number on the
letter and was told I was given the maximum three year award and would be
    reassessed then.

Crazy for people with progressive diseases.

Sorry you have this stupid hassle come round again.

Yes, the new rules means there are no longer any ‘indefinite’ awards, the maximum term is three years. It is a sort of lazy anti fraud measure, many medical conditions have improvements or are not as long-term as of old, so we are reassessed.

It is vital to keep a copy of your answers. I scan mine into my computer, you could get them photocopied or write specific notes to refer to again.

I am not 109% sure whether the same principal will be applied to the PIP, probably.

On PIP some people are being given ten year awards.

Thank you for your replies, friends. I didn’t realise ESA was for 3 years only. I have got my old form and my sister has said she will help me fill in the new one.
