    Used postage stamps

    Hi Everyone
    I am collecting used postage stamps to raise money for the MDC.I would be grateful if you could all save yours from your Christmas cards. Either save the front of the envelope or cut off the stamp leaving a good margin and then PM me and I will give you my address. If you can get your friends and family involved as well that would be great as I need a lot of stamps!!!

    Hi Valerie,
    I’ve saved used postage stamps for years, donating them to various charities but I didn’t know the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign wanted them.
    Wouldn’t it be easier [for you] if we sent them directly to the MDC, that way you won’t have to pay postage to send a large package?

    The collection is done by an outside company. I am acting as a collection point for as many people as possible so they don’t get inundated with lots of post.
    I used to give my stamps to charity too and then I thought “why not MDC”. I contacted them and they found somewhere that would deal with them.

    Hello Valerie,
    A hundred years ago I saved used stamps for MD but the person who was the contact left DM as a fundraiser. I have never stopped collecting although with email, there are less to find.
    Not knowing what PM means – is it personal message? How? – could you contact me with your address and I will happily gather up the various stashes and send them on to you. I will also activate my various ‘little helpers’ who will contribute again no doubt.

    Valerie pops onto the forum from time to time, to PM (you are correct, it means private message) her there is a button just beneath her name at the side of her posts in the thread.

    are you still doing this? im the secretary of the cornwall branch and would love to make it one of our targets for this year to collect the stamps to donate for MDC
