Hi all,
I’m a newbie to these forums so bare with me, I have Congenital Muscular Dystrophy and always been able to eventually get travel insurance even if it has been more complicated then I have liked, but recently I have had to start using a vent at night. Trying to find travel insurance since then has been a nightmare. I have read some threads about getting travel insurance but I can only find ones that are at least a year old has anyone had any recent experience of being able to get travel insurance without having to take out a small loan to cover it!
I would be grateful for any tips
Thanks

I will be looking for a better deal now I know my lungs wont explod on the plane with the cabin pressure. lol. up until I was in the air I had no idea how I would cope on the flight. even got permission to use vent on board if I needed it.
a good point about my extra dear insurance . if I took ill it covered my cares stay while I was in hospital and geting us home again. if my carer took ill (my 64yr mum) it covered a nurse aid to look after me while she was in hospital and paid to fly a family member over to get me and my belongings home.
people have said Fish is good also.

I’m afraid the ventilator seems to bump any medical condition in terms of insurance premium. It does show a lack of understanding as to the purpose of a bipap machine I think. There are many of us that use them but with a varying degree of other issues.

They did not know or understand so

September 26, 2016 at 12:22 pm #138444Reply To: Travel insuranceit is a lot. but as travelling with MD is sorta time barred to a extent. I plan to save and manage at least another to get the experience. it is bit depressing and a leap of faith if less cover is real cover
