Stem Cells of America
Browsing the net I came across this site. Whilst I usually do take claims with a big pinch of salt I wonder if there is any scientific backup for these claims? Stem cell research is regarded by many as the saviour of the future – does anyone know anything about this company please? Do they have a basis for their claims I wonder?

Stem Cell research has been in the news recently with changes in the law on research materials. Here are a couple of posts from other forum members with helpful links.

While we cannot comment on specific companies and their claims I can say that we do not know of any stem cell treatments that have been fully tested in clinical trial for the muscle and nerve diseases that we cover. A safety trial to use a specific type of stem cell to try and treat boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy is ongoing and while the organisers of the trial have so far been cautiously optimistic about the results and found no safety issues in the small number of patients they tested, the trial proved extremely challenging in many respects and has given them a lot of points to consider before they embark on another trial.
We are concerned about unregulated clinics that may be selling stem cell transplants for large sums of money without any evidence on their effectiveness or safety. As such, they may be at best ineffective, or at worst positively dangerous and potentially fatal.

JuliaRe: Stem Cells of AmericaStem cell research has a lot of potential and IS being used today to treat a number of conditions; I watched a TV show recently where they were able to improve the eyesight for someone who had encurred eye damage and had no vision in one eye. However just be cautious as there are a lot of foe companies out there.
