    Online support and resources hub

Our new Support and Resources Hub website launched a month ago this week. The new website is an informative online home of the important services and groups that are available for people who have muscle wasting conditions which help to support them both emotionally and physically.

Since we launched the Hub we’ve received lots of great feedback about the website. If you haven’t had a chance to look at the new website yet here are just some of the features you can expect to find on it:

    Specialist neuromuscular centres:
This section of the website features a large number of specialist neuromuscular centres that are spread across the UK and can be searched for using your individual postcode to find your nearest centre. Each individual centre features a description of the service and clinics offered as well as details of the staff members who treat people with muscle-wasting conditions and their work.

Facilities and disability sport near you:
This section details the many different options that are local to people who have muscle wasting conditions that can aid their quality of life, including, hospice and respite centres, hydrotherapy pools and disability sport clubs.

    Advocacy:
These pages feature details about the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign’s advocacy service which is available to offer support and advice on important matters including benefits and equipment. As well as profiles introducing you to our Advocacy Ambassadors, who are people who are affected by muscle-wasting conditions themselves and are available to help.

    Bridging the Gap activities page:
This page details all of the different strands of work that have stemmed from the Bridging the Gap project, including peer-to-peer support groups such as muscle groups and trailblazers, with details on each and how to become involved with these activities if so wished.

    Neuromuscular forums:
The neuromuscular forums are regionalised groups where patients, clinicians, and commissioners come together to highlight the strengths and weaknesses in the local services, these pages highlight the work of each group and give details on their goals.

We hope that you enjoy and find the site informative, and if you have any feedback or questions about it please do not hesitate to get in touch.
