Becker MD & keyboard typing speed.

I have Becker MD with only mild symptoms at the moment. I am trying to learn to “touch type” to help me find work again. (Worked for 30 years preparing documents for commercial print without being able to type with more than 2 fingers! lol) I am finding it hard to type faster than 20wpm(words per minute). I have developed the habit of looking at the keyboard when I type, which is very hard to stop!

Is MD slowing me down? I’m probably just rubbish at typing.

If you also have Becker MD, how many wpm can you type?

P.S. Quite a trivial question but I had to ask.

Hi Chris, you are doing great. I type with one finger! I too have Becker MD.

I haven’t worked in 12 years, and even then typing didn’t come into it, perhaps that was where I went wrong?

Chris, I think you are doing very well indeed. 20WPM and you are just learning. I have been trying all my adult life, which is considerable, and I am nowhere near that level. Have a word with your neurologist to see if they think your Beckers will make a difference. In the meantime please keep working away at it and exercise the muscles in your fingers and arms.

Thanks for the replies. This was my first post on the forum. I will keep practising my typing…
