    Anyone have any links to Interesting Research/Trials?

    Hi

    I love reading about Nasa and their research into muscle changes in space, I feel that some of this research could help with treatment for use on Earth at some point. Does anyone else know of any interesting links and topics like this to do with research and trials possibly in other fields?

    Hi Croissant,

    This does sound like a really interesting topic. I am afraid we don’t know much about this aspect of research as we focus on the genetic side. The team did say

    as far as I understand absence of gravity will affect bone and muscle health. There might be the possibility that knowledge about changes of muscle biology when in space might be applicable for muscle wasting diseases and vice versa, but at the moment this is no hard evidence for this.

    I have read some really interesting articles on the effects of skeletal muscle and I do think if travel to Mars becomes more of a priority it could result in some kind of treatment or breakthrough. I have no background in any of this it is just my pondering and dreams. I know the focus is probably on genetics more than anything though.
